Echinacea Seeds – Purple Coneflower

This is a beautiful perennial with striking 3-inch rose-purple flowers that bloom in the summer. These flowers feature a distinctive central cone that adds visual interest, making them ideal for use in dried flower arrangements.

To grow them from seeds, you need to stratify them first, which means exposing them to a period of cold to break dormancy. Place the seeds in a moist, sterile medium and refrigerate them for about 4-6 weeks before planting them indoors. Alternatively, you can plant them outdoors after the frost has passed.

Echinacea purpurea plants typically grow to a height of 2-3 feet and thrive in full to partial sun. They’re not only ornamental but also have a long-standing use in teas for their potential immune-boosting properties. Each packet typically contains approximately 100 seeds.
