Description

Maqui Berries

Scientific Name: Aristotelia chilensis (Mol.) Stuntz
Family: Elaeocarpaceae

Maqui Berries are small, deep purple berries native to the pristine forests of Chile and Argentina. Traditionally harvested by the Indigenous Mapuche people, these nutrient-rich berries have long been valued as a nourishing food and wellness tonic. Naturally abundant in anthocyanins and other antioxidants, Maqui Berries are celebrated for their vibrant color, mildly sweet flavor, and exceptional nutritional profile.

Plant Description

The maqui plant is an evergreen shrub or small tree that grows up to 15–20 feet tall. It produces clusters of delicate white flowers in the spring, followed by small, glossy purple-black berries in late summer. The berries are carefully harvested, then dried or freeze-dried to preserve their rich color, flavor, and beneficial plant compounds.
